Download And Plugin Source Boundaries

This page defines ECHO’s boundary around downloads, source integrations, plugin interfaces, and legal responsibility.

ECHO Provides No Music Download Functionality

ECHO provides no functionality for downloading music content.

ECHO does not host, distribute, sell, mirror, index, or provide copyrighted audio content, and it will not help users download, scrape, crack, rehost, or bypass platform copyright protection, paid access, region limits, DRM, or access controls.

Website installer downloads, update files, and project source code are not music-content downloads. They are only for installing, updating, or reviewing ECHO itself.

Plugin Interfaces Are Not Official Sources

ECHO exposes plugin interfaces so users can locally extend commands, themes, panels, metadata, lyrics, artwork, and custom source candidates.

The plugin source interface is only a controlled technical interface. It may let a plugin return candidate metadata and explicit http / https audio URLs when a user searches or starts playback, but that does not mean:

• ECHO officially provides or endorses that source.
• ECHO officially verifies the copyright status of that source.
• ECHO allows bypassing platform authorization, paid access, DRM, region limits, or access controls.
• ECHO accepts legal responsibility for third-party plugins, scripts, APIs, accounts, URLs, or content sources.

Plugin authors and users must verify that their sources, accounts, network access, and content usage are lawful and comply with the relevant platform terms and local laws.

Third-Party Source Liability

Anything connected through plugins, user-provided URLs, remote sources, proxies, scripts, private APIs, packet-capture reverse engineering, or third-party services is a third-party source connected by the user or plugin author.

If those sources involve infringement, piracy, payment bypass, access-control bypass, DRM circumvention, unauthorized scraping, rehosting member-only content, gray-market APIs, or platform-rule violations, the responsibility belongs to the integrator, user, plugin author, or service provider. The ECHO project, maintainers, and official docs do not accept legal responsibility for that behavior.

ECHO may provide plugin permission boundaries, sandboxing, logs, and error messages, but it will not provide fixes, adapters, tutorials, interface promises, or bypass methods for illegal or infringing sources.

Before Reporting

If your issue involves a source, plugin, download site, script, proxy, or private API, check first:

1. The content source is legally authorized.
2. The account and access method comply with platform rules.
3. The plugin returns only lawful, accessible http / https audio URLs.
4. There is no paid-access, membership, region, copyright, DRM, or access-control bypass.
5. The problem can be reproduced without relying on an infringing third-party source.

Requests that cannot publicly explain the legality of the source are outside official support.
